Current Research Project

I am involved in a longitudinal follow-up study on discordant schizophrenia twins and healthy controls. The main topic is to see whether genetic and/or environmental components are contributing to changes in brain abnormalities seen in schizophrenia.

A review on longitudinal MRI-studies on whole brain volume changes in healthy individuals (in press);

Hedman AM, van Haren NE, Schnack HG, Kahn RS, Hulshoff Pol HE. Human brain
changes across the life span: A review of 56 longitudinal magnetic resonance
imaging studies.
Hum Brain Mapp. 2011 Sep 13.

In a meta-analysis I am investigating the change in IQ between schizophrenia patients and controls.

Quantitative genetic modelling in a twinsample for cortical thickness change and cortical surface change is also under investigation.
